Winners of the 23rd Nikkan Sports Film Awards

The results of the 23rd Nikkan Sports Film Awards were released on December 1. This year's big winner is Akunin, which achieved the triple crown by winning in three categories: Best Picture, Best Actor (Tsumabuki Satoshi), and Best Actress (Fukatsu Eri). Akunin, based on the novel of the same name, depicts the human events surrounding a murder case by following the tragic story of a woman who falls in love with the murder suspect.

The award ceremony for the Nikkan Sports Film Award is scheduled to take place at a hotel in Kioicho, Tokyo on December 28. The results of the Fan Awards for Best Picture and Best Foreign Picture, determined by fans voting from a set of 20 nominees, will be announced at a later date.
