They've really been cracking down on the piracy lately.

I get where you're coming from, Japan, I really do. I promise.

But until the day you make your dramas widely available to those of us who would be willing to pay over here in Americaland, I will continue downloading things rather than paying for them. Because you really don't give me much choice otherwise if I want to see it. No expansion means more piracy. You could make a fair amount of money if you did, but you won't. So here we are.

I just realized I left out the other territories that would be good for marketing dramas to, but I only have my own experience over here in the USA to speak of, and let me tell you -- with the number of people I know of who watch K-Dramas on KBS World when they get subbed and aired? Money can be made here. It can be made.

ikr I always see tons of bootlegged Japanese dramas with fansubs in Chinatown and people are buying them. Unlike Korea though Japan doesn't necessarily need foreign fans to buy their stuff, but more money wouldn't hurt so I don't understand why they don't try to to tap into the foreign market.
