Well lets start off with HAPPY HOLIDAYS ONE AND ALL! <3
Now, what’s new...It’s been busy, which is expected around this time of year. Back at work now, except my boss is on vacation so I’m basically just answering phones...w00t.
Recap of the most recent days
Christmas Eve:
I went over to my grandparents and helped get ready for the annual shindig. The neighbors always come over and have drinks. It was pretty good, I convinced Christian to come over for a bit so I wasn’t fully trapped. I love the neighbors and all, but I really hate small talk and I don’t know them anymore. But it all turned out well. The only stayed ‘til 11pm and Grandpa and I had a good hour long discussion on random things.
Christmas:
I got up early and cleaned and stuffed the turkey. I threw the breakfast in the oven, since I prepared it the night before. It’s called the Wife Saver’s Breakfast and traditionally we had it every year since my mom always made it. I decided to keep it going, so now I’m going to make. It wasn’t the same as hers, since she had modified it her way and I am more generous with the meats and cheese, but everyone loved it (and they ate the whole casserole dish in one sitting...^-^;;;). So yay, I didn’t screw it up!! We opened presents and as always we spoiled each other (and boy did they spoil me!). We played with our toys for a bit and I talked to my family in Alberta and my cousin. Periodically I basted the turkey. Then I picked up Browle and we all hung out, with the guys having drinks and Browle falling asleep. Ivan dropped by because he had just finished making my gift and couldn’t wait to give it to me. (Which is cheating since our Christmas thing was suppose to be on the 29th) He gave me a beautiful metal flower and said it was because he always wants to give me flowers, but knows that I hate cut ones. Soon after the turkey was done, and it actually came out ok! We got all the other fixin’s ready and Grandpa carved it. I don’t know how good it was, but no one got sick and it tasted fine, so I think my first Turkey meal was a success! We watched Ice Age 2 (YAY) and the guys fell asleep near or close to the ending. So I ended up having a good conversation with Grandma and Aunt Jackie. Later we hear cheers coming from the basement...(well mostly I could hear Browle yelling. Browle, you rock!) Interestingly enough, it wasn’t sports they were cheering at, as we had assumed, they were cheering for the game show Deal or No Deal. :/ There was few more rounds of drinks and talking then I took Browle home, stopped by and said Merry Christmas to my Mom, and finally we went to bed.
Boxing Day:
I got up semi-early with Grandma to clean up and get ready for the rest of the visitors. I finished sewing Ivan’s present in time for people to arrive. After they left, we worked on getting Grandpa’s newest toy, a remote controlled helicopter, up and flying. Grandma and I fell asleep for an hour while watching the Married...With Children marathon. Gotta love cat naps! After we got the helicopter working and I headed over to Ivan’s to meet his Grandma. She is awesome! I stayed and played cards with the family until she had to go home. Then Ivan, his Dad and I watched Lady in the Water (Faryn, you were right, it was good!). Finally, to end off this wonderful Christmas marathon, Ivan came home with me.
I hope all of you had a great time too!
