Freaking Ubisoft..

So I preorder the game 'cause it was both low-priced and you got a hat in TF2. Admittedly, not a very good one, but I figured, hey, the previews for it were pretty decent and it was popular with the console crowd, right?
... and then find out right before I'm about to run it that it's got that horrendous DRM which requires you to connect to Big Brother's servers EVERY SINGLE TIME you want to play. Even if you're running Steam offline. And the port is bad; which makes no damn sense when you consider the XBox is a freakin' customized PC. I'm just glad I didn't actually start the game, so maybe I can get a refund, as the product is effectively "unopened". Gotta love companies which flat out LIE to their customers (check out the article for more)..
Long story short? Don't buy 'From Dust' on the PC, and screw Ubisoft.
UPDATE: Got a refund from Steam, something they rarely ever do, but a great gesture on their part considering what happened.
