Strike

My twin sister Elisa came up to Columbus today for a visit. Tonight, we went to La Tavola for dinner (it was good; I recommend it) after being told we'd have to wait 45 minutes to get into Figlio's. After dinner, we went bowling. We tried one place by the Continent, but there was a 30-minute wait for a lane. So we drove further down 161 to the Columbus Bowling Palace. There was a line to the door -- probably 75 people waiting for a lane. League bowling ended at 9 pm, allegedly, but we showed up at 9:15 pm. We decided to wait, and passed the time joking with the guys in front of us in line. After about an hour, we got our lane. It wasn't so bad; Elisa and I enjoyed chatting with the guys.

Once we got to bowling, we had a nice time too. Elisa did better than she usually does -- fewer gutterballs, a few strikes and spares. I did a lot better than I usually do. I started off with a strike, and made several more afterwards. Last time I bowled -- probably 12 years ago -- I think I got about 87 points. Tonight, I got 124 and then 151 -- my highest score ever. I think the training at the gym helped.

We both had a good time, and I'm glad we were able to find something to go out and do together on a frigid night.
