Are you personally familiar with your character's canon?:
I'm very familiar with her canon. I've read all of Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man, and the various spin-offs, like Ultimate Doom, Ultimate Mystery, Ultimate Enemy, and Ultimate Requiem repeatedly, as well as follow the Ultimate universe at large with Ultimates, Ultimate Thor, Ultimate Captain America, and so on. I haven't read those as extensively as Ultimate Spider-Man, but I'm still pretty knowledgeable.
Please give us a personal history of your character's life and explain to us in detail how they grow and develop over the course of their canon:
Peter Parker was born into an alternate version of Marvel universe. Here, the Avengers were the Ultimates, the Ultimates were insane, and New York was pretty trashy. Heroes had all but disappeared only for a surge of "unauthorized genetic mutations" came out of nowhere, and with this, the creation of S.H.I.E.L.D. was born. Also, Nick Fury is Samuel L. Jackson.
Anyways, Peter Parker was born to parents that quickly died when he was a young boy, leaving him to his uncle and aunt. Unfortunately, death befell his uncle soon after, leaving him to take care of his poor aunt. This is the story of the boy who became Spider-Man, the boy who gained OZ-induced spider powers, the boy who became the prime example of a horrible experiment gone right, and the boy who soon became one of the best and one of the most hated hero in New York.
And that's kind of how Jessica's story goes. Kinda.
Before the events of the Ultimate Clones Saga, Otto Octavius was given a chance to redeem his past crimes by using his scientific genius to work for the CIA and FBI. Ben Reilly, Dr. Conners' lab assistant, was also given a similar deal for his involvement in creating Carnage. Using their collective scientific research and Peter Parker's DNA, they successfully created a new series of clones of Peter, one of which is Jessica. By the time Jessica was aware of her own existence, a month later, she became a fully developed clone.
Jessica was created out of remains of Conner's research and Peter's genetic sample so that the FBI and CIA could create their own Spider-Men, wanting to attempt an army of super soldiers like Captain America to be the new generation of war. At her point, she was "phase 5" of their project, as all the other attempts of cloning had failed. She was "phase 5" because of the fact that she was the fifth clone: there were four before her. There was Scorpion (who had a tail biocrafted to his spine), Kaine (who was pretty much insane and had his skin pretty much falling apart), Tarantula (who had six arms and a fuzzy, spider-like face), and Richard Parker (who was aged thirty years forward and implanted with memories to make him believe he was Peter's father). However, the only changes they made to her was manipulating the DNA so that she would be a female and could then work for the CIA under the alias, "Jessica Drew". They would wipe all her memories of Peter Parker and create new ones for her so that her integration into Jessica Drew would be complete. This would be done by a woman named Madam Webb to finalize her conditioning into Jessica Drew, agent of CIA, but before the memory wiping could occur, Carnage escaped, attacking the guards before escaping. Jessica and the other clones did so as well.
Though Jessica planned to not let the clones involve themselves in Peter's life; nothing ever goes as planned. However, while she was trying to get a handle on her thoughts, having trouble processing, Peter came across her and accused her of kidnapping Mary Jane Watson. The two fought and in the end, Jessica was forced to escape, but swearing to him that she would help him get back what was lost. And like she promised, when Peter was arrested by SHIELD, rescued him and together they escaped where Jessica told him what happened. And together, they headed towards Osborn's abandoned facility where they found an OZ-mutated MJ attacking the clones. Once MJ returned to normal, Otto Octavius crashed the party, along with Nick Fury, SHIELD, and the Fantastic Four.
Nearly getting arrested for illegal cloning, Otto revealed that Richard Parker is also an aged clone of Peter, and that he confiscated Conner's research that also had Peter's blood, taking credit for creating Jessica. Peter then made a deal with Fury which involved SHIELD going on a "coffee break". And here, the clones attacked Otto, resulting in a huge fight with the rest of the clones besides Jessica dying. While Peter went to take on Fury, Jessica escaped and waited at an abandoned warehouse where Peter met up with her and after a few words, Jessica left to "start her new life".
While Peter's life pretty much sucked in every way possible, Jessica went about trying to make a name for herself as a superhero, but with no luck on the civilian identity front. A few months later, she was finally seen again, her patrol interrupted by the vulture who was being chased down by The Human Torch. She quickly took care of the villain and attempted to flee, with Johnny following her and asking about her. This ended badly and abruptly between them. However, once Ultimatum hit, Jessica showed up again, rescuing Aunt May and almost giving herself away to the woman. She was given the task to bring Peter back safely, but before she could, New York almost exploded and she was unable to find him. On her quest to save her genetic template through the watery remains of New York City, she was attacked by the Hulk, given the cold shoulder by Kitty, and rescued many, many people. But with no luck on Peter.
He did show up later though and all was well.
Jessica begins to spend her time investigating the Roxxon Energy Corporation -- the people who created her. On the 32nd day of her reconnaissance, the building was destroyed by a monstrous cloud. After saving the scientists, she escapes to her apartment, where later, she is attacked by a large alien creature. She escapes once again, with the creature going off to terrorize more heroes. Meanwhile, she goes undercover as Julia Carpenter, a scientist applying for Roxxon. Once hired, she was integrated into the Roxxon Brain Trust with a few other teen geniuses, where they quickly found a flaw in her cover and began to interrogate her, demanding to know whether she had powers. Trapped in a corner, Jessica was forced to web them down, showing them who she really was and tried to bolt out of there. However, the oldest member transformed into a huge monstrous creature and attacked her, knocking her out. Apparently, it had all been a trap to capture Spider-Woman. Here, she met Doctor Octavius again and if not for Spider-Man would have probably undergone many experiments. However, right after their escape, the building they were in blew up and Jessica and Peter were forced to rescue everyone, including Doc Ock whom she flat-out refused to help and demanded that he was left to die. Peter didn't want any of that so they saved him anyways. Right after, Johnny Storm and Nova arrived, asking for help in the fight against Reed Richards, and that went off without a hitch, defeating Mr. Fantastic with his crazy alien army with the help of the Ultimates and every superhero in the Ultimate universe, apparently. Jessica was then recruited into S.H.I.E.L.D and got a pretty awesome paycheck with no real benefits.
Soon after, Jessica showed up again, but it wasn't a very interesting meeting and really only showed some chemistry that Johnny Storm and Jessica apparently had.
So basically, Jessica's life is pretty sad and pathetic and a shadow of how a real person should live, but hell, she's Peter Parker (was, anyways) and her life is supposed to suck but at least she's making out with Johnny Storm on the side?
She has a total of four appearances overall. It's rather sad.
What point in time are you taking your character from when he/she appears at Landel's and why?:
Jessica will be pulled from Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man 09, right after being cornered by Johnny. It doesn't really affect her at all except for her future interactions with him (Hello, love interest), but it does give the viewers more of an example of how she's being her own person and how far she's differentiated herself from Peter. Other than that, it won't really affect her at all. This is just the most recent appearance she's had.
Please give us a detailed description of your character's personality:
Jessica Drew is Peter Parker.
She is nerdy, she is quiet, she is talkative, she is awkward, she is brave, she is dumb, and she is a genius. She is Peter Parker. To a point anyways.
Being a clone of Peter Parker, she is exactly like the boy. Well, almost exact if you don't ignore the lady parts. But that aside, she has his face, his memories, and his personality, meaning she does talk exactly like him. She has his speaking mannerisms, his quirks, the way he rambles on and on about nothing, his fast quips and quick remarks, and the talented ability to banter over nothing. As well as a great dosage of sarcasm. And because of her bantering skills, she has a quick wit and fast reaction time and is often hard to surprise or insult or shock when it comes to words or statements. Unfortunately, because of this, she also has a very masculine way of speaking, with much "bro's" and "dude's" and the like. She's very masculine in the way she acts as well, not femininely-balanced in the way of personality.
Because of her limited interaction with anyone that wasn't Peter Parker, she's also very socially awkward. Of course, she knows the basic idea because of her memories of what he's done, but it's hard for her to differentiate what's his memories and what's her memories and who she's met and what she can and can't do, especially since she has to remember that she's not him and that she's not a guy. That means she often catches herself on what she's saying and has to realize what exactly she can and can't do and what's appropriate to social norms. However, because of her "male upbringing", she's also very tough and won't back down from a fight. She's protective over her friends and will go out of her way to defend them, even if it means getting injured herself. She doesn't have much of a temper, but she's always willing to get into a fight if the reasons are right, and won't hesitate to throw the first punch. She's especially caring of her clones -- or what's left of them -- and Peter, and might not be seen as a mother figure, but can definitely be seen as the sisterly type.
Jessica has a very sensitive mind state. As stated before, she's unsure of what's her own memories and what's Peter's and that means she can have breakdowns and meltdowns pretty quickly, if given the opportunity. While she's normally cool-headed -- outside of the comic relief reactions -- she does get upset about the confusion on who she really is. However, she tries to keep herself emotionally stable for the most part, not letting the fact that she's not her own person overwhelm her. Things like the fact that she has to make her own life, that people will complain about the lives they have, who they are, or what they were given, prove to be very sensitive to her and she tries to her best to ignore it and prove herself to be the one and only her.
Even though she's Peter's clone though, she knows exactly what goes on in his head and near-knows what he's thinking and how he'll react or what exactly he'll do in certain situations. She can judge him pretty well and knows his friends just as well as he, everything he knows, and everything he's learned up to the time of her birth. However, she rarely takes advantage of this as she'd rather make her own impressions with other people her own way. She's not particularly bothered with how people think of her though or whether the words she says bothers them or not. Well, at first, until she realizes that it's probably incredibly cruel and that she should apologize. But she'd never say anything harsh on purpose because when you take the Peter Parker aside, she's a pretty gentle girl. Who has spider powers.
However, there's a point where she forces herself to be different from Peter. She forces herself to cheerier out of costume, remind herself less of her genetic template just so she doesn't hate herself or Peter in that unique way of self-loathing. She tries to mold her own personality through her experiences, someone who's not just that dorky, quick-witted kid, but instead, someone more. Unfortunately, this ends up with her being less of a jokester than Spider-man in costume, using short quips and generally avoiding most long-winded jokes unlike her counterpart. She can get rather avoidant and has a very strong serious side that shows up a lot more often than, you know.
This is partly because Jessica is filled with all the trauma that Peter has went through as well as a lot of her own. She used to be a boy, and one day, found herself with female parts, discovered she was a clone, created by her most hated enemy and this leaves her filled with a lot of frustrations and unfixated anger towards something that she can't help. While she's not quick to lash out, or even to get angry, when she gets pissed off, she goes all out. Despite the fact that Peter would never kill anyone, Jessica is fully willing to take out all those who did this to her. She can get reckless, she can get headstrong -- as much as she thinks and as much as she plans, as tactical as she tries to be, she still jumps into things headfirst and doesn't think of the consequences or downsides.
Which, of course, means she'll have a large part of her made for dealing with the guilt and depression she'll inevitably collect. She's a walking ball of repressed emotions and often times, this leads her to "spaz" or take it out on others, or the most likely, herself. She is constantly taking out her actions and others' choices and blaming it upon herself and leading her to fits of self-loathing. She knows she has problems and she knows she has issues and oftentimes, she'll address them and then avoid them or ignore them. She's constantly guilt-ridden and has the weight of the world on her shoulders (or had. She still carries the feeling, anyways.) The happiness and joking and cheerfulness that she puts up is often a facade just to make things easier to deal with and cope. The less she thinks, the easier it is. She can handle being a clone, sure, but the moment she lets that mask fall, everything that she had to deal with would be thrown at her and she wouldn't be able to avoid it anymore. Yeah, she's not a real person, but not thinking about it and just pretending makes the weight lighter. So she tells herself. This, and mainly this, is the reason she is so intent to create her own life, no matter how much she jokes about it. She just wants to forget.
At first, she refused to be called Jessica and was under the strong impression that she was, indeed, Peter Parker, no matter what. However, after meeting him and finding out exactly why she was created and by who, she's settled on trying to make a new life for herself and characterize the person of Jessica Drew as her own -- someone different from Peter Parker and at the same time, will still remind one of him.
Please give us a physical description of your character:
Jessica is 5'5" and weighs about 132 pounds. She's slender, but not quite scrawny and not completely grown out, female-wise. She has a round face that's easily mistaken to be younger than her actual age with large brown eyes, a small nose, and thin lips. An easier way to describe this is that she has Peter Parker's face to the dot on a girl's body. It's kind of unnerving. She has large, bushy brown hair that frames her face and goes down to her mid-back and is again, weirdly attractive for having a boy's face.
What kinds of otherwordly abilities does your character have, if any?:
Oh boy.
So based on her name, it can be insinuated that she does indeed have spider powers. (Shocking, I know!)
Like Spider-Man, she comes with all the basics. Her hands and feet have "inter-atomic binding forces of matter, allowing her to form temporary molecular bonds between her body and another object". Basically, she can cling to stuff and it's almost impossible to make her let go if she doesn't willingly. She has a "Spider Sense", which is a buzzing in her head that warns her of danger, superhuman strength where she can currently lift six tons, superhuman speed where she is faster than even the fittest human, durability to the point where she can withstand great impacts and leaves her body tougher and more resistant to injuries, agility as her tendons are more limber and elastic and allows her to create even the most complicated stunts and movements, a natural sense of balance, reflexes fifteen times greater than that of a normal human, and -- for once! -- unlike, Spider-Man, organic web-shooting. This means she can form web (a strong, elastic adhesive substance) within her body and release it through her fingertips because of the spinnerets in her hands, allowing her to use it for web-slinging, create nets, and pretty much anything her imagination can cook up. There's no limit to how much web she can create.
Oh, and vampires don't like her blood. It's icky.
If present, how do you plan to tweak these powers to make your character appropriately hindered in the setting of Landel's?:
Jessica will be unable to stick to walls or other surfaces. In other words, she's losing her wall-crawling abilities. Her enhanced strength and most of her physiology will be reared back to an average adult fighter, but her flexibility and reflexes will remain to the level of the finest gymnast, but not beyond. Her Spider Sense will be appropriated to be pretty useless: it will go off from time to time, but randomly and is generally late or doesn't warn her of which direction the danger is coming from. Instead of being just a tingling, it will either appear as huge headaches, barely noticeable buzzes, or when it actually wants to be on-time and useful, will give her nosebleeds. Her organic webbing will remain, but the strength of her web will be decreased and she'll be unable to swing from walls with it.

Does your character have any non-otherworldly abilities/training that surpass the norm?:
Peter Parker was stated to have a 145 IQ in canon, and therefore, Jessica has one too! That means she's smart. Brainy smart. She has crazy intellectual prowess that's enough to create an inorganic new bonding substance based off of her "father's" research papers over the symbiote. She has mechanical genius, breezes through school (or would if she was in school) with ease, would take advanced everything, and is an overall giant nerd. She's a computer whiz as well. Jessica also has S.H.I.E.L.D. training in fighting and general use of weapons, as well as some CIA training from back when she was in the labs.
What do you see your character doing in the scope of the game and how do you plan to use the setting of Landel's Institute to develop them and affect their psychology in a unique, interesting way?:
Honestly? Upon arrival, Jessica will probably freak out. She has traumatic memories of being in hospitals and surrounded by men in white coats, and being a clone with serious gender issues, this comes of no surprise. However, the freak-out probably won't last long and will probably turn into something of a vendetta -- determination to get out, determination to ruin this place like she wanted with Roxxon (the funder of her creators), and at times, anger. I want to play into that horrible aspect of her personality that's fueled by her being an experiment and a clone, and the possibly (more than likely) negative effect it will have on her. However, she will spend most of her time trying to get as much information as possible and creating a social network of those that could help her/she can depend on.
Given that this RP takes place in an unsettling and outright horrific environment, how do you justify your character as being appropriate in both body and mind for this kind of setting?:
Jessica was created in an environment similar to this one, and even with that aside, she's from a world where monsters and bad guys roam free, and is constantly plagued with traumatic events and horrible scenes that she has to deal with. The Ultimate universe is messed up, and honestly, Landel's probably won't be the worst place she's been in. She can definitely handle it.
Third-Person Sample:
Despite the fact that her Spider Sense was not going off at the sound of that lady's voice and she was pretty sure she wasn't in any danger, the first thing she wanted to do when she got here was run for the hills. So she did. Except there weren't any hills. And she didn't run.
So she web-swung for the nearest highest building and clung.
That seemed like a better idea anyways.
In the end, here she was in some foreign city, looking it over and taking in the cityscape. It really wasn't that different from New York City in the end. Sure, there were some subtle changes and the like, but it was a bustling area with people going to and fro, taxis crowded on every street corner, the smell of crime in the area. Ah, felt just like home. Except there was the whole, being kidnapped from her world thing and possibly Iron Man having something to do with this and that creepy lady on the screen that gave her the communicator and dog tags? What was she, Logan?
Alright, she was freaked.
As chill as she'd like to come off.... to no one, she was scared. She had no idea how she got here, what she was supposed to do now that she was here, and no idea where she'd start. She was used to being alone, sure, but not... not like this. Jessica frowned, clambering all the way up along the wall before pulling herself onto the roof, curling up in a back corner against a wall. She wasn't -- no, she wasn't going to cry. She hadn't for a while. She was just... it was easier to think this way, gathered around herself, arms around her knees. She just needed to think -- figure out what she was going to do and maybe --
Oh god, she was never going to get home, was she?
It wasn't like she had anything back home, sure. She had her crappy apartment and her attempts at being a hero, and maybe she had a -- a friend or something? But, no, nothing like Peter. She didn't have Aunt May or Gwen or MJ --
Jessica's brows furrowed as she stared out at the night sky, watching the smoke rise.
She definitely didn't have MJ and that just made her heart churn a little. She missed her a lot. Sometimes, she would swing over the high school just to get a peek at her before realizing that it was a bad idea and that she promised herself she would stay out of her life. And every time she told herself that, it hurt her heart. It hurt her all over. She loved Mary Jane. She loved her with all her heart and -- god, she was going to cry again, wasn't she? And she just promised herself that she wouldn't. Jessica buried her face in her arms, bringing a hand to grab at the back of her head. This was pathetic. She was pathetic. She couldn't last ten minutes in some crazy other-city without weeping like a little kid. But this -- this sucked! Could anyone blame her?
She wasn't allowed one single minute of peace. Not one. She wasn't even him and she couldn't get off easy. Well, she was him, but... No, she wasn't doing that in her head. She didn't need time for that either.
She'd... she'd have to get a hold of Peter. Find out where he was. Maybe he was here or maybe... maybe there was a way to reach home.
(Johhny. Johnny too. She couldn't just leave him hanging like that. She couldn't believe she might be feeling this way.)
She couldn't believe she was sitting on a deserted rooftop, questioning her future love life. Wasn't she supposed to be gay?
Jessica groaned and brought both hands up to her hair now, ruffling it so that it puffed up around her face like a lion's mane before looking around once more. She couldn't even really see the stars. They barely twinkled out at her, not that it was much different in Queens. Except the view from her apartment was not as good. But she preferred hanging out on rooftops anyways. It was easier to think up here, easier to possibly go crazy. She probably already was, with the way things were turning out. Maybe this was just a horrible dream and she'd wake up in her crappy cot in her crappy apartment with her crappy life.
Would Negative Nancy raise her hand?
She needed to figure things out. Spider-woman needed to figure things out. If she could -- if she could do Roxxon, this was nothing, right? So she reassured herself. Come on, girl, get yourself together. She was smarter than the average adult and definitely smarter than the average teenager. Iron Man complimented her (or Peter -- technicalities) for god's sake! (What was with him, by the way? Ultimates lose its funding or something?)
Whatever. She glanced down to stare at the dog tags she had been clutching in her hand, the communicator in the other.

Okay, I hate writing these things. I always feel like I'm writing my will or my memoir or something and it's not exactly something I like to think about -- dying, that is.
I'm in a hospital again. I promised myself I wouldn't ever end up here, and look at me. I'm in a hospital and I'm writing in a journal and there are a whole bunch of other people here and I'm pretty sure the guy from The Evil Dead is here.
So I've officially gone off the deep end.

I'm freaking out in my own journal. Diary. Book. But I'm... I'm really scared. I keep thinking about that bastard and those men and waking up and I'm really scared. I need to get out of here. I have to find a way out.
