FurDU
I never posted beforehand that I was going away to a con. Oz Kangaroo and FlameDrake organised a new Brisbane fur con called FurDU and it was held at the Vibe hotel in Surfer's Paradise.
The con went well and had a larger than expected turn-out, and generally everyone was well behaved and had a good time.
Most of the events were at the hotel as there isn't actually much to do in Surfer's Paradise itself. The whole place is a tourist resort and has a plastic superficial feel it, like none of it is quite real. There are lots of nice expensive cafes and restaurants and junky little souvenir shops and not much else.
In the end, FurDU 2010 was very expensive for me and I don't feel like I got value out of it. I don't think I'll be going to many cons like this in future. I'm just totally worn out from lack of sleep.
On the other hand I got to see Oz and Drake, and others like AtPaw, Keneeko, Temba, Miles, Foxy and Nikita again, and meet Macroceli and Duncan, and spent some time with Micky (thanks for all the Tom Baker!)
Today I'll be travelling home and depending on how I feel, maybe going to Aikido afterwards. Also depends on how much money I have left in my wallet.
