But yes, I completely agree that you expect Ryan Gosling to Do What's Right but what I adore is that he is a bad person who shrugs off his past with each new city and gig and that he ends up doing something good, but he is no way a good person doing bad things.
They did not make room to comment on the Irene-Gabriel interracial marriage dynamic which added to the awkwardness. When I found out the part was whitewashed everything made sense. I will have to read the book, though Ryan Gosling's face is commentary enough for me.
HIS FACE. HE HAS A FACE. I hate/love that dead in the eyes look he gets, and I was loling all over the place reading Drive's wiki page because Ryan had less than 20 lines and you know they were trying to build in as many pauses as possible into their scenes.
