9nine to sing theme song for “Ranma 1/2″
Pop group 9nine has announced that their new song, “Chikutaku☆2NITE“, was picked up to be the theme song for Aragaki Yui’s upcoming drama, “Ranma 1/2“!
This will be 9nine’s first theme song for a drama after changing their line-up last year. Produced by agehasprings, “Chikutaku☆2NITE” is described as a party tune. It will be released on December 21st, and will be available in Chaku-Uta form starting from December 7th.
As for its coupling songs, the single will include a new song called “Angel drops” and a remix of “Cross Over“. It will come in a total of 4 different versions: Limited Edition A, Limited Edition B, Limited Edition C, and a Regular Edition.
After a photo session with Aragaki, member Satake Uki commented, “I love Gakky-san, so the fact that I got to meet her and touch her today was this year’s greatest memory.” Murata Hirona felt the same way, as she expressed, “This was my second time meeting Gakky-san. I was happy that she let me rest my hand on her shoulder.”
Yoshii Kanae gushed, “To be able to appear together with Gakky-san like this is like a dream!“, while Kawashima Umika stated, “All of us are fans of Gakky-san and Ranma, so we are looking forward to the drama. We are also excited to have our song play in the drama!”
Finally, Nishiwaki Sayaka commented, “I’m not from the generation where ‘Ranma 1/2′ aired in real-time, but I’ve seen the re-runs. I’m already very thankful that we’ll be providing the theme song, but I’m even more honored that it’s Gakky-san’s drama!”
The actress herself expressed, “I love the voices of 9nine so I’m happy. The theme song, ‘Chikutaku☆2NITE’, has youthful lyrics. ‘Ranma 1/2′ is also a story about students, so I think the drama will shine even more!”
