10 things I hated about...
...The Type 0 Negative concert in Coliseu - Lisboa:
1- First and foremost: THE INFAMOUS SET LIST. What devil possessed those Brooklyn trolls to play that amount of bad songs to an audience that had never seen them live, was eagerly waiting for them for more than 10 years, and deserved a simple, yet effective, BEST OF?
2 - The fact that while playing those boring long songs that nobody cared about, they looked as bored as I did.
3 - The fact that when they finally played the songs we wanted, they looked even more bored, as if doing us as huge favor. Poor things!
Pete Steele, could easily trade his lazy, uninspired "She needs Corpus Cristi" for "Me need a bed". For Christ's sake, that was one of my personal hymns he was murdering!!!!
4 - The sound sucked, too loud, too noisy, too brute. Are they professionals or what? My ears are still making ppiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii...
5 - They are obviously tired and OLD. That was a shock to me. Pete looked and was sick - as I was told by some friends backstage - and also drunk, but he kept drinking wine like there's no tomorrow.
6 - Pete's unprofessional attitude, ignoring the rest of the band and singing and playing by himself pieces of stupid songs from other bands. Oh! That's right! Silly me, we were all there to listen to Nirvana...
7 - The fact that HE doesn't look like a Sex God anymore! Where did his ass gone? His pants were empty in the back, the man is skinny now!! This was even more shocking!!!
8 - The feeling of ending a cycle... The nearly semi-goth chick I was let out her last sigh, painted her last black lines around the eyes, and she deserved something better. If she wasn't so mad, she could have cried.
9 - The whole atmosphere of the concert was warm instead of passionate. Portuguese people make the best of crowds, we can easily go mad, but only when the artists give us something to work with. A couple weeks ago we reduced Eddie Vedder to tears, one of the best concerts of my life. I never saw anything quite like Type 0 in Lisbon. And how we wanted to make love to them... to Him.
