Avoidance is the greater part of valor.

My neighbors have been harassing me for money and diapers. The first time they begged for money I decided to give it to them, but I told Mark that we would not give them more money if they didn't pay us back. I am still 10,000 HUF poorer, so I haven't given them any more money. Since Mark is away they have increased their harassment, to the point that I have just stopped answering the intercom or doorbell. I have also taken to turning out all the lights except the ones in Baby's bedroom, which you can't see from the street. Yes, I am pretending not to be home to avoid my begging neighbors. I am a coward. I am tired of saying "No understand, no money! No money!" and having the doorbell ring in the middle of feeding/bathtime/bedtime/my 10 mins of private time per day. So far this tactic has been very sucessful. In fact, they are only ringing me up once a day now, and I am not answering. Hopefully they will stop alltoghether. I am also very fast when I leave the building, so they cannot get a chance to see me and ask for money. I am a bit afraid of them, but I assume that aside from putting burning logs in front of my door or something there is not much they can do to me when I am inside my house with the great hulking complicated lock in place.

Incidentally, we may be moving soon if we can swing something equally inexpensive.
