lj catchup time!
what have i been doing? good question. wasting time. i have a job coming up monday, few bucks here. another job the week after that, few bucks there. you know, if it's not canceled due to swine flu. no joke. it might be canceled due to swine flu. or rather, fear of swine flu. it's a conference that involves a lot of people from the european union, and apparently the EU is advising people to not travel to the US.
paid my taxes. got raped again, of course, what with not having a job at the end of the last year that i could use to set aside some money to pay my self-employment tax. had to borrow money from my parents, again. need real work soon. apparently i qualify for the earned-income credit, meaning i probably got raped harder last year than i should have. hey, thanks for telling me, IRS!
shot daniel's play at school today. didn't get as many good shots as i did last time. but this time, it's my gig and not mom's. meaning that i'm like half done already. she's still working on the last one. probably should have shot it raw... i used jpeg because i didn't know it would be so short or be entirely on a black backdrop. ah well. not important. have get prints made tomorrow. maybe i'll post some pics from the last one, or something. i don't really post a lot of pics on here.
my parents got me a sensor cleaning and grip-replacement for my camera for my birthday. it was badly in need of both. i had gunk all over my sensor, and my grips were falling off. now it's like brand-new. had to replace my eye-piece, too. lost mine the last day of the last job. this time i was bright and ordered a spare.
been talking to jehovah's witnesses when they come around. that's been interesting. i don't think they like my complicated and nuanced view of the bible, but they were surprisingly accepting of the fact that they're saying "yahweh" wrong. and from what they say about their church, it might actually be a decent religion. except for the fact that they don't have women elders. can't win 'em all, i guess. maybe i'll go to one of their bible studies sometime and see what it's like.
