I just wasted my whole afternoon on Tumblr reading the wank over the b.s. going down on deviantART about New Zealand's gender and the whole thing totally reinforces how awesome everyone in fairdinkumbamf is. <3
And of course I forgot to bookmark the pages were people on dA were telling people that Hima had said NZ's definitely a boy, so the fem!NZ was wrong or OC... OTL
But the mods of the new Oz/NZ group seem to be telling people that NZ's a boy, but they do allow fem!NZ art.
I'M TOTALLY PROUD! Everyone's just so good-natured about the mystery that is New Zealand in our comm, that I couldn't believe that wank was happening on other sites.
But then again, I have a tendency to forget about my dA page for weeks at a time, and Tumblr's layout design gives me headaches
dA is great for what it's meant for- art. I finally broke down and joined because it's so much easier to post my cross stitch there than it is here. But I do not understand the point of posting fanfiction there...
And then there's the cosplay...I had to delete a bunch of character groups because they were just being spammed with cosplay. I joined them to see fanart- not a bunch of girls dressed as boys running around a park or making out with each other. Cosplay shit should be over at cosplay.com or something, not in a fanart group. *rages*
Tumblr just offends my need to have things organized and categorized. XD
I agree that dA is good for art. I just wish I didn't have to get through so much garbage to find the good stuff @_@
I've never read fanfic on dA. I don't get the point. I use LJ and ff.net. In a cesspool of garbage, I like to be the little bit of decent writing, even if that means I don't get a lot of comments/hits/likes whatever.
I agree on the cosplay to an extent. If it's a few pictures, or you know, you're a photographer, so that is your art, then i'm not as DX about it. But i'll agree that it's not fanart and shouldn't be in a fanart group. (And as a cosplayer it annoys me when people do the "durrr lets have a yaoi shoot of our characters" thing)
And I just never liked Tumblr. Or twitter. I got a twitter account for a legal jobs in nj thing and haven't been back since I got a job. I didn't even friend anyone there. It'd just be a bunch of my "friends" talking shit about me anyway =/
Yeah, sorry I should have mentioned that the artistic cosplay photos don't count. XD There was one Dutch cosplayer, who posted a set of pictures of herself as the Netherlands in front of a really old windmill and that was pretty awesome. So jealous of the European cosplayers who get to do shit like that! And don't get me fawning over the Russian cosplayer who when down to Red Square! ><
You ever go to Archive of Our Own? I'm in love with that site, because you can download each story in various ebook formats- plus no teenagers posting dumb shit there!
I don't have a twitter account. And I technically have a Facebook account, but I have never used it...the idea of posting my real name all over the internet is bizarre to me O.o ->is so old-fashioned when it comes to the internet
Here are the links in Tumblr that I first found out about it:
