Some people have been saying NZ must be a boy because apparently girls aren't allowed to play rugby and apparently Maori culture is way too manly to allow for the existence of a female NZ. And then being dicks to people who post fem!NZ stuff.

Yeah, so I love our group. Fem!NZ, Male!NZ, who-the-fuck-knows!NZ- it doesn't matter which you prefer, no one's going to hate on someone for having a personal preference.

Ah, it's okay. I don't mind you guys <3 XD it was just such a risky thing to do (at the time anyway) and I'm more a lurker in most places and in the fandom. >.> I was just annoyed with the constant wanking and whining on the discussion post so I made a new one?

then my every little thing I did was commented on at the anon meme and there was some wank about mod bias on the discussion post because of that troll type person and i'm like "oh god, I hope no one ever finds out its me" even though I am so detached from everything and have no biases at all.

I think you're doing a great job with it! And don't worry about the few haters- some people are going to bitch no matter what, and what's more important is that you've created an atmosphere for the comm where anons know their concerns are going to be addressed if there is any wanking going on. I think that's pretty spiffy. :)

I've really tried, and I have everything going to my phone, and Ami helps me keep up on it when I work late. It just bothered me that otherwise reasonable debates were being deleted as trolling or wank well before there was any indication it was. I try to delete what is definitely wank, but I'm not going to ban disagreeing with someone.

And I try to do let the anons do what the mods at the kink meme say no to, like the concrit threads. at the same time, i'm trying not to step on the mods' toes either, you know?

Exactly! People can act like adults even when they're anonymous. I know I've gotten into at least one exchange where we both knew were to draw the line, and I know I've read lots of disagreements where people did the same thing. The problem with the other discussion post was the fact that everyone knew there was hardly any supervision until it was too late.

I still don't understand why they don't recruit more mods, because it's obvious they don't have enough people.

And don't get me started on the indexes

Someone asked me to make a master index list on the discussion post, and at this point it seems like the mods on kink meme aren't doing anything so I might? But I told them to ask about it there first. I'm working with someone else to make an index of all of the discussion posts, but I don't want to post it until we have more done. I just don't have the time for it so it's very slow going. @_@

And I agree on the supervision thing. And then they really just overcompensated for it. It was ridiculous. And yet, I mean, it's really just me modding this one and I do fine. The discussion comm is smaller, sure, but it's still busy. I end up getting a lot of messages from posts on my phone all day.

In the end, though, I think that if you treat the anons like adults, they will act like them for the most part. And usually, rather than responding to the troll bait, they just report it to me so I can clean it up before someone doesn't ignore it

I'm the one who posted this, and to be honest it is ridiculous that people don't understand that the * means an index has been abandoned.

But there's no excuse for the mods not to check to see if they have been updated more often than every two or three months. No index should go longer than a month without an update. I'm tempted to say it would be great if you made a master list of the active indexes...I just don't know if the mods would feel like you're stepping on their toes or something like that...

And it is awesome y'all are indexing the discussion posts! Actually, when I'm done indexing of the past parts for the Nyotalia index, I'd definitely be willing to help out. :)

That'd be awesome if you can help with it! From July 10 to July 31 i will be on leave from work (Bar exam study for july 27-28 and then extended to include otakon 28-31). I plan on working on my fics during my study breaks (finally - i want to finish Little Test and I had like 5 or 6 more Australia requests I wanted to fill with Aus/US)

But when you are ready, let me know and I will give you the information.

It seems there is a lot of discussion about it, so I may end up messaging the kink meme mods about it, or i'll make a thread in the discussion post itself with the active and inactive indexes. since we are indexing the discussion posts, it will be searchable, and I can update it on a monthly basis

That time period works for me :) I'll be moving the first week of August, so I'll be packing that entire last week of July. (Lucky girl getting to go to Otakon! ><)

I was thinking, since people keep asking the mods for a list of just the active indexes, that might be easier than listing both active and inactive ones. Maybe at the beginning of the month (end of month, whatever's best for you) there could be a post listing all the indexes that have been updated in the past 30 days or something like that?

(I can not wait for the next request period for all the "Canada goes crazy after losing the Stanley Cup" requests) XD
