Okay, let's rethink that.

I'm sort of against going to AX now. I think if it wasn't so soon, or so far away, I would feel it a more realistic possibility.

I'm looking at cosplay.com's convention list, and I'm annoyed to see that Otakon hasn't announced 90% of their guests yet, despite being only two months away. I also see that PMX isn't even listed. (Major WTF.) PMX would be much more worthwhile to go to than AX in general, I think, but they haven't made any kind of guest announcements yet, seeing as PMX isn't until November. I'll have to keep an eye on their announcements.

I wish conventions would learn that they need to announce these things in a more timely fashion. It's unfair to give only a month's notice. Not only does it make it difficult to make reservations anywhere near the convention site (let alone get the money together to do so), but it means those people who are only interested in a late announced guest have to pay through the nose for their con pass because they had no way of knowing they would be wanting to go during the first tiers of pre-reg, which I feel is underhanded. I refuse to believe that AX only just sealed the deal on SKIN. They've probably known for at least a month.

This is one of those things that ACEN usually does better than most cons. We had, what, three months notice on SPASPA and H&MC? And ACEN was BEHIND SCHEDULE.

acen, conventions, ax, pmx, skin
