Or if the fics are posted on a forum, then the thread itself may have been accessed a lot, thus giving itself the classification "sticky".

I'd invoke Rule 34, accept it exists and go no closer to it.
There's fanfic, slashfic, and stuff that's only constant category is rule 34.
Why on earth would you be looking at it?
