Continuing with my final Vampire Diaries series-and the good stuff-here are my favorite scenes or moments. (You may notice it now says /8 instead of /10. That's because I realized that I can get this done in eight and I'm glad because I like the symmetry of eight parts to go with eight seasons.) Some of these may surprise you and some scenes/

“Klaus told Stefan the only thing stronger than his need for blood was his love for Elena, but clearly… not so much.” - I have to say that Klaus’ misguided shipper’s comments were sometimes making it difficult for me to take him seriously lol
I just go with what someone said (it might have even been you), that Klaus "shipping" Stefan and Elena was just proof that they weren't meant to be because while on TVD, Klaus was TOTALLY the big bad, LOL!
And please tell me you’re thinking about making a D/E/J/A video *puppy eyes*)
Nope. not even remotely enough footage. Sorry.
“Sure, he sent a look towards Elena-'Really, again?' that look said-but he went along with it.” - Yes, this time it was totally done with Jeremy’s consent.
Dear God, did Elena haters fight against that so hard, completely denying the obvious, raging against Elena like nobody's business. Ridiculous.
“The first was the simple fact that Elena thanked Damon.” - And it was such a lovely parallel to Damon thanking “Elena” in 1x22.
Honestly, I don't even think of it that way because it was such a completely different kind of of thanks. That was about Damon realizing he's not as bad as he thought and that it was thanks to Elena. This was about Damon finally getting gratitude for doing stuff for someone, anyone. I don't know, to me it was just two different kinds of birds.
“all of the good that Damon had done since then has never been acknowledged by anyone. This was the first time ever.” - That’s so true! Shockingly, I don’t think I fully realized it until now.
Yeah, that what it was to me, you know.
“but based on all we did know, there was truth in much of what he said to her. And that is why it was all so powerful.” - That’s a great point. And I’d say it was a random possible ship appearance done right (as opposed to Enzo/Bonnie).
But it wasn't random. Caroline and Klaus were built up slowly and surely, bits and drops that developed throughout the season. That just wasn't the case with Bonnie and Enzo.
“Still back then after losing Ric having this was a balm for my soul and it gave me the happy closure feels for Alaric and Damon that I personally felt was missing in his final episodes in season 03.” - That scene was so moving and beautiful. It seriously makes the later fallout feel kind of unreal.
I still hope my rewatch will help with the Damon/Alaric stuff because my expectation won't be weighing against reality. We'll see.
