Continuing with my final Vampire Diaries series-and the good stuff-here are my favorite scenes or moments. (You may notice it now says /8 instead of /10. That's because I realized that I can get this done in eight and I'm glad because I like the symmetry of eight parts to go with eight seasons.) Some of these may surprise you and some scenes/

Very, very true and we saw the signs of that right away with not only Damon and Elena, but with Stefan and Caroline. *sigh*
“Damon just kept breaking my heart with nearly every line uttered and then he revealed that his big secret was that he missed being a human, and I was wrecked all over again.” - And what makes it even more awesome in retrospect is that in the end Damon got his wish ♥
And that is why I kept going back to this scene over and over again whenever I brought up the fact that I wanted Damon to be human and that if the series didn't end with Damon as human that I wouldn't be happy, and that it wouldn't be right. Damon NEEDED to be human because this is what HE wanted because he missed it so much.
“the direction by Marcos Siega, the script by Elizabeth Craft & Sarah Fain” - I don’t know if it’s just an impression but I feel like so many great writers and directors disappeared after S2 already. Why do you think that was? Did they move on to other projects because they wanted to? Or did Julie want to bring on board other people who weren’t available when they show started?
What actually happened is that a lot of the writers moved on to create their own shows, or become headwriters on other shows. So TVD wound up becoming a launching board for quite a few writers. Because I became so familiar with the writers/directors (and watch so much TV), I recognize a lot of the names in other shows.
“Bonnie and Elena were separated by the classroom doors and Bonnie had used her wily magic to keep Elena from entering and the two gazed at each another.” - That was a beautiful moment, characters-wise and also on a visual level. Such a memorable scene. Also their earlier conversation when Bonnie asked if Elena would do the same for her. In retrospect this conversation is even more touching because both of them continued making sacrifices for one another.
Yup, but wasn't that the case for this whole group? They were always sacrificing for each other. *sigh*
