'The Vampire Diaries' Wrap-up Thoughts... 5A/8 -- Seasons 01-04 Favorite Scenes and Moments

Aug 13, 2017 17:49

Continuing with my final Vampire Diaries series-and the good stuff-here are my favorite scenes or moments. (You may notice it now says /8 instead of /10. That's because I realized that I can get this done in eight and I'm glad because I like the symmetry of eight parts to go with eight seasons.) Some of these may surprise you and some scenes/ ( Read more... )

I don't have a list, but can't say I would have picked most of these (there would be a lot less Stefen probably!), but they are still great moments. And 4.03! I love that scene, even if Meredith doesn't seem to be doing anything useful with that knife.

Ah 4.06 forever overshadowed by the question of who did her hair and makeup and changed her clothes.

Psst.. 27 - The title is wrong.

Oh, yeah, I'm sure most lists are different for people. I do love that you agree on the 4.03 scene though! Aww.....

As for 4.06, nope, I answered that question with a fic! Taking Care (OK, not the make-up part.) And, I don't know, the scene is so awesome and beautiful from a DE point of view that I think the 'hmm, how did she get all nice and dry in bed?' wondering came after the fact enough for most that the scene wasn't overshadowed.

(And fixed the title, thanks.)

You know how the logistics of these things always bug me.

Huh, how did I never read that fic? (it will have to wait until tomorrow though, I am supposed to be in bed - it's 12.20 here).

I know they do, lol, but I think most people just loved the scene itself. However, obviously, it did stick in my mind enough that I wrote that fic... which I hope helps ease your frustration to enjoy the scene in all of its beauty more. (The make-up, I just fanwank away because Elena-and all of the other ladies-always have perfect make-up pretty much no matter what.)

I can't say it did. It is just another classic example, albeit quite minor, of logic being sacrificed for the 'moment' that his show did so much of (and a lot of shows do it), but it breaks me out of the world because it feels lazy.

(Maybe her make up is tattooed on?)

To be fair, if you watch the scene back (even look at the gif) her make-up is much lighter than usual. And honestly, if you're gonna dig the show for having their actress have some make-up on, well, that's a lost cause, the vast, vast, vast (like 99% of them) have their actresses with make-up when it makes ZERO sense.

As for her being dressed, obviously Damon got her dried and dressed. Obviously. There's no way he wouldn't have. He wasn't going to put her in bed wet. He brought her home, he undressed her, dried her up and got her dressed. Elena had just gotten that whole Hunter's Mark thing messing with her head, it made perfect sense that she was knocked out by it. This is one of those things that I don't think took too much of a willing suspension of disbelief.

It's not so much that, as she looks so perfect. She could have had damp hair at least.

Elena had been up ALL DAY AND NIGHT the previous day. When they went into the water it was because the sun had JUST come up meaning it was the next morning. So when Damon got her home and obviously changed her clothes, fixed her hair--because Damon would totally do that, he is a neat-freak, he clearly had a change of clothes in his car for himself, there's no way he would have let Elena stay in wet clothes and leave her hair a bedraggled mess. And then he put her to bed to sleep. Which she did for hours. But it was still light when she woke up. But when you go to sleep with damp hair, and sleep for hours, your hair is going to be DRY when you wake up ( ... )
