Lux and Jones? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?!

Okay, is anyone else shipping Lux and Jones after the last Life Unexpected episode? Also, about the show in general, I still like both Cate and Shiri Appleby, but she is easily my least favorite character/actor on the show.

tv, life unexpected

well, don't look at me *g* I'm still rooting for Lux and Bug. I dunno, but I felt an immediate dislike the very first time we saw Jones. And I just couldn't shake it. He still seems like a douche to me. :-/
Though, I'm sure Lux will have a fling with Jones. I mean, otherwise where'd be point in building up the character so damn much the last two episodes.

I liked Bug until this episode. I'm sorry but he completely lost me with the emotional, verbal abuse he threw at her. Jones, seems like a typical, popular, has it all rich boy who needs some softening up. After all, he was actually pretty nice to Lux from the get-go. It wasn't until Bug took his car for a joyride that Jones got douchy. And he got over it pretty quickly.

But didn't he use Lux and kinda pressure her to get the kegs for his party? I can't remember if it was him or the high school girls...

Not really. She offered her dad's bar for his party, and it's an easy assumption to think that alcohol would then be available. When it wasn't there, he asked her where the booze was, because he thought that she had offered it up by offering the place above the bar. Understandable considering w/the party being called off because of his gf's parents being home, that naughtiness (including booze) was expected. It was then Lux's choice to tell the truth, and stand firm with Baze's rules, but she simply smiled and said, oh yeah, sure, let me go get it. He didn't pressure her at all, he simply asked where something was that he thought she had already offered.

(ETA: Because, wow, I made no sense originally, LOL!)

I def. don't agree with what Bug throw at her in that argument, but somehow I also understand his situation and why he exploded like that. It's not easy for him to see her drift away into this other world where he just can't be a part of. And with all the abandonment issues he obviously has he felt threatened and said all the stuff in the heat of the moment. So, I'm not blaming him too much for it. And him leaving at the end of the episode just proved me again that he loves her and doesn't want to become his father and hurt her even more.

Sure, Jones is nice to her b/c he has a crush. And now with Bug being out of the picture and Lux being vulnerable I'm sure he will make his next move.

But Jones was nice to her when he first met her; not in a 'I like you' way, but as a decent human being.

I get *why* Bug acted the way he did, but the fact that he did shows he has that tendency, and regardless of understanding, it just shows me that he needs to change a lot of his ways of thinking and that's not going to happen soon. I like that he went away, and ideally, I'd like to see him gone for a while. I think the best thing to happen would be have him stay away, have Lux/Jones develop a relationship and then next season (provided there is one) Bug comes back with some obvious changes in his attitude. Sadly, I already know it isn't going to work that way.

Bottom-line, I like the actor, liked the character, but because of his life, we've already seen that no matter how much he loves Lux (and I believe that he does), he's an emotional abuser. And I just can't go for that, not without some seriously growth on his part and I don't see that happening any time soon.
