American Idol, Auditions 1 & 2

My annual picking the top 24 and 12 out of the early audition rounds continue as I kick so much ass at it. Uh huh, you don't think I do .... last season, I picked 25 out of 36 and of those 25 I picked, 9 of them landed in the top 12 and of those remaining three in top twelve, I know for a fact that we did not see winner Kris Allen -- who I so ( Read more... )

Oh yay I'm glad someone on my flist watches AI :)

I don't usually pay attention in the beginning weeks... I always feel bad for the people who genuinely think they can sing :/

It's really interesting, but some of the bad ones really aren't bad, it's just nerves. I remember seeing this one guy (a few years back) practice in the bathroom and he was great, then he sounded awful with the judges and you know, it was nerves. There was one girl tonight who I think was a victim of nerves.

You'll do your predictions once all the audition eps have aired, yes? :) That's always such a fun post. :D

Glad to see you were as "meh" on Alicia Keyes Lite as I was, but she is "Commercial with a Capital C."

(I loved Mike Davis and the 28-year-old-sounds-14 -- but it could be because the latter sang the only Rascal Flatts song I actually like :p )

And "Pants on the Ground" was pretty awesome. ;)

Yeah, that Ashley Rodriguez -- I KNEW the second she started the judges would go bananas over her. *Sigh* She does have IT, but, yeah, so not impressed.

Mike Davis, yes, loved him, and Joshua Blaylock was just dang adorable. As for the song? Dunno, I can't stand Rascal Flats (I think the lead guy is an awful singer), I only know two songs because of other fandom-related events. (Kelly sang with them at the country awards and Apolliane reunion-danced to them on that special anniversary show.)

"Pants on the Ground" HEE!

Yeah, I'll do those predictions too. :)

I'm going to be shallow and say that my favorite audition was Mallorie Haley. I was so glad she can actually sing because it would have been a travesty seeing her go - such a beautiful girl. She sang that Janis song very well. Here's hoping Hollywood doesn't swallow her whole.

Methinks TPTB want a female winner this time around.

Lastly, Pants In the Ground! Simon is right; this could very well turn out to be a hit.

Oh my Lord! Even just seeing the phrase: "pants in the ground" actually made me start singing and bopping along to it. Lord, help me, LOL!

Yeah, Mallorie Haley is probably my favorite of the girls at this point. Hopefully, she holds true. :fingers crossed:
