List of Emmy Nomination Submissions

Jun 04, 2009 17:18

It's a long list, but there are a lot of names (many I know I won't see) I'd like to see make the final ballot. My preferred win is bolded (and will shock no one on my flist) and the six noms I'd like to see have an * when more than six listed.

Fun! I'm going to try this (although we know it'll never go this way).

Yeah, I know. But I have high hopes that Jim Parson and NPH will at least win. I'm 100% sure they'll get noms.

Alas, be prepared, KB's name pops up twice. UGH!

I honestly think the only sure bet is NPH getting a nod. They love to nominate him and love to disappoint him.

Is KB nominating herself? She needs to stop and reevaluate (case in point: nominating herself during S3 of VM for some horrible episode). I see the Party Down nod, what else did she nominate herself for?

ETA: She nominated herself for Heroes? AGAIN? STOP RIGHT NOW, KB.

Nah, I think Jim Parsons is a pretty damn sure bet. He's been mentioned by pretty much EVERY dream ballot, the show has picked up enormous critical and popular steam this year and almost everyone attributes that to him. He's the total standout and is already being hailed as comic genius in rare form. I'll be truly, truly shocked if he doesn't get the nod.

As for KB? Yeah, bitch nominated herself for TWO separate shows. Whatever. Sigh, not surprisingly, Jason didn't even submit his episode for PD, it seems like every other guest star from that show did, but him. Oh, Jason. GET A BETTER AGENT/MANAGER/SOMETHING!?!??!?!

Unfortunately, critical dream ballots also called NPH winning last year and that it was his to lose, and we all know what fuckery that turned out to be.

And I don't know, I don't consider Jim Parsons or anyone else on the comedy list to be a comic genius in any way. NPH, Jim, Alec, and so on are very, very good at what they do, but to be considered a comic genius? It's way too early for that for anyone on those lists. With that said, I hope both NPH and Jim get nods because they really are the best things about their respective shows and are a step ahead of everyone else with the comedy, although they will probably inevitably lose to Alec Baldwin or Piven.

You know, I don't think a single person (JD included) deserve an award nomination for Party Down. Not a single one. Nominating themselves for Party Down is like the Gossip Girl folks going for dramatic leads. JD might actually be smart here. lol

However, had TBP been picked up, then I would've definitely screamed from the rooftops for JD to submit for lead male.

Nominating and winning are different things, though. They've got six slots and Jim Parsons has all the critical/popular buzz right now. I consider JP a comic genius; he amazes me. His phrasing, his delivery, his body language, it's so ... just wow. And it's not him, this is not how the actor talks or how his body language is ( ... )

Like I said, I hope Jim is nominated, but I don't see him winning. Last year, every news outlet predicted NPH winning and as we all know, Piven won.

And unfortunately {unfortunately!}, bad press doesn't really mean jack when it comes to awards. The Alec Baldwin "pig" thing happened in '07 and he won quite a few awards that same year. And bad press follows Piven around everywhere (he really is a jerk), and yet here he is, winning for doing the same ol' crap. 'Tis why I hate the Emmys- if bad press determined that a person would lose, then NPH should've won two times already. lol

But from our mouth to God's ears- I really want to see Jim nominated over the same people and NPH to get a win. Especially after this season.

If JD turned down OTH, then he has more sense than I initially thought LOL. It makes me think less of BAG though (even so, he was apparently offered 1.5 mil!). JD just needs a new agent that isn't a fellow Scientologist. It isn't doing him any good. :(
