Just watched Psych and the Host Nation's welcome of the Opening Ceremonies. Not to compare the two, but excellent on both counts. This may, easily, be my favorite Psych episode ever. Just wonderfully done.
Great guest casting with Steven Weber who continues to show everyone else (post-Wings, I loved him on that too) just how awesome he is. The one thing that slightly bummed me is that it's very clear now this season that they are DEFINITELY going the Shawn/Jules route. It's been getting increasingly obvious with each new episode (shutting down past love regret of Shawn to focus on Jules, Jules making it absolutely clear that she has NO feelings like that for Lassie {{sniff, sniff}}), and this one took the cake, that they ARE heading there, likely for reals this season. Ah well. I don't ship ship Jules/Lassie, but I think they have better chemistry than Jules/Shawn (who are dating in real life). It's still cute, I'm cool with it.
As for the Opening Ceremonies production from China. Wow! Just beautiful and amazing. I cried, I clapped, I was filled with wonder and joy. Beautiful, beautiful job.
ETA: I hadn't watched the lighting of the Olympic Torch when I wrote this earlier. I just finished doing so, and my praise above is nothing compared to the majestic and literally awe-inspiring beauty that China managed with that torch lighting. I was literally crying, shaking with tears of joy and awe. Just utterly transcendent. WOW!
