So yeah, baby, Doctor Who finally aired. Phew!! The wait was torture. I so should not be this invested and care this much, but I do. Oh I do. Ahem, so ( behind the cut I ramble away. )
Yeah, he so doesn't change. There's interesting theories floating out there about how the Doctor regenerated into looking like Ten FOR Rose since RTD suggested that he has the London accent -- though, watching DWConfidential, waaah, I want The Tennant's delicious natural, Scottish accent!!! -- because of Rose. So, it's possible he simply doesn't change because, well, his conscious/subconscious mind still wants to be what Rose would want. Cuz, you know, he loves her.
I was thinking the same thing. Supposidly in The Christmas Invasion episode, there was suppose to be a dialogue between Rose and Ten that explains that the result of his regeneration was suppose to be pleasing to Rose. That is, he is who he is (appearence wise) because it was what Rose would want. Since Rose doesn't want to lose Ten his regeneration will create Ten again, for Rose and maybe even Donna. Donna doesn't understand what is happening to the Doctor and she wouldn't want to fight the end of the universe without Ten. ^ okay re-read that, and sounds like complete randomness, swear I was trying to make a point :D
But, if that's the case, would he still be Ten? Or would he be Eleven now? Even looking the same. Hmmm.
I was wondering the same thing. Even if he comes back with Ten's face does it mean we are on Eleven? I don't want to lose a regeneration, so that would suck as a DW fan.
I just can NOT accept that Donna dies. I refuse to. I will sob like there is no tomorrow if Donna dies. I. will. not. accept that. It's as simple as that. No, no, no, no. So, she won't die which leaves ... well, I wrote about this in a spec post, I'm just not sure.
Well, it's not happy spec (and something I REALLY don't want to happen), but here's the link. Oh, and feel free to look around and check out my Who posts, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Just click the 'doctor who' tag at the top of this posts and all of them about Who are there.
ETA: Never mind, here's the direct link to the Who posts so you don't have to scroll up through my massive post, LOL!
Oh, no, it's not sad in regards to Donna, in fact, I make the case for it not being Donna. It's spec that ROSE is the one to die ... and I'm still not convinced it won't happen, sniff, sniff.
Oh goodness, I've heard spec along those lines before. But I swear RTD has said that he wouldn't bring Rose back to kill her. Oh, I'm going to freak if that happens. Oh goodness - going to have to definately have to read your speculation.
Oh, really!??! RTD said that? Of course, RTD LIES!!!!!!!!! Still, I'm feeling more optimistic after this episode than I was after last week, plus, plus tardislullabye had an awesome theory over at Time & Chips.
Most of us have heard theories/rumors/speculation about the end of this series and the possible loss of a companion... In last night's episode, the insane little Dalek Caan said "I see the death of the Doctor's Most Loyal Companion"... which seems to feed into the idea that one of the Doctor's companions will die at the end of the series. They're hinting pretty heavily that it's Donna... even last night when one of the Shadow Ladies said "I'm sorry for the loss yet to come." But I don't think it's any of them... not Rose, Donna, Martha, Jack, Sarah Jane... none of them.
Through it all... 900 years of traveling... WHO has been the most loyal companion to the Doctor? Who has never left him? Who has been there in the end?
The TARDIS.
I don't know how many people watch the Doctor Who Confidentials... and usually, I don't. But I watched it last week after Turn Left. In the Confidential, Russell T. Davies said that he wanted to burn the TARDIS to the ground when they tapped into it to send Donna back. He wanted this huge, spectacular image of the TARDIS just burning. But, they wouldn't let him... LOL Would cost too much money. BUT... he DID say that there was something even more spectacular to see involving the TARDIS in the weeks to come.
I think the TARDIS is going to 'die' (But, of course, this is Science Fiction - and in Sci Fi and Soap Operas, no one is ever really dead). What if the four specials are filmed on Earth because the TARDIS can't fly? It's not like they haven't done it before. The Third Doctor was sent back to Earth with a broken TARDIS as punishment and must of his time on screen was on Earth... not traveling at all. But, I don't think that with the current fan base, all Earth based stories would carry very long. But... four 'specials'?... that we can do.
So... I think all the 'human' companions live... But, it breaks my heart to think of the TARDIS dying. I've made her such a sentient being and so much an integral part of the lives of the Doctor and Rose in my series, that she's very real to me. She may not be that way on screen... but she's still a sentient being. AND... I believe that if the choice of living or dying for the Doctor was left in the hands of the TARDIS... she would give her life to save him.
Isn't that brilliant?!??! And it sooooooo works. A downed TARDIS for four specials? That would work. Totally.
I love that!!! I will be so sad if it is the TARDIS but to me it would be much better than Donna or Rose. I could deal with four specials that are on Earth and revolve on the basis of the Doctor trying to "repair" the TARDIS so that he can travel across time and space again.
This really gives me some hope that maybe just MAYBE Donna wont die. Or even worse, Rose wont die. If the TARDIS does get "destroyed" I have hope of her being rebuilt, but the Doctor wont be able to "re-create" Donna or Rose.
I know the idea of the TARDIS being the companion makes so much sense, it really does. And I don't want Rose OR Donna to die, and I honestly can't think of any one but those three that would fit.
Well the TARDIS has definately been the most faithful companion. The TARDIS has always been their for the Doctor. So it would be this great end, especially since Donna dying has to be a Red Herring, it would be a little too obvious. Plus, RTD loves Rose too much to kill her off. Goodness, that's weak logic, but I'm going to stick to it cause the other possibility gets me frustrated and upset.
I didn't know this, but there's a quote that RTD said he would never kill Rose. Of course we know that RTD lies, so who knows? I don't know, I waver --- Rose, TARDOS, something else? I just don't think it's Donna. I really, really don't.

Aw, I don't know if I'm ready to read sad speculation. I have major fears about Donna, and I can't bear to think about them right now.
