Ralph Fiennes is my favorite actor and I wanted very much to see TGC while it played in theaters due to him and the wonderful reviews, but it just never happened. Well, I got it yesterday and watched it. The film was so absorbing, so compelling.

I haven't seen it yet, but Netflix just shipped it to me on Friday and I'm quite eager to check it out for myself. Hopefully, it'll be in my mailbox tomorrow so I'll have a the chance to see it this weekend. I'm not a huge Ralph Fiennes fan as of yet, but I do really like Rachel Weisz and have heard some wonderful things about his film, so I'm really eager to see it now.

Wow, I can't imagine not loving Ralph Fiennes, LOL! I've seen everyone of his films that's available and I've never been not overwhelmed by his brilliance.

Do let me know what you think of the movie. It's amazing.

As you saw on my LJ, I really did love this movie. I may have to check out some more of Ralph Fiennes films because he so definitely charmed me in this film. I've seen only a few others with him - Strange Days, Schindler's List, Red Dragon and Goblet of Fire. Oh, and I didn't even realize he was in The Chumbscrubber, but Netflix just shipped that one today, coincidentally enough.

Any other RF recommendations?

Oscar and Lucinda is my 2nd fave performance by him. The End of the Affair was excellent. As was The English Patient (one of his better-known roles). Quiz Show was fabulous (although, his American accent was a bit shaky in that). Sunshine was also wonderful; he played 3 different roles, including one that interacted with Rachel Weisz.

The one drawback is that he doesn't go for fluff roles generally and so these are all heavy works. Also, if you don't mind Jennifer Lopez, I found Maid in Manhattan charming -- one of his very few fluff roles.
