Loving the Helen Mirren Love

I think it's BEYOND awesome that the new IT 'girl'/sex symbol of Hollywood is 61-year old Helen Mirren. Seriously. Too, too cool for words. And I'm TOTALLY dying that ohnotheydidn't is being renamed ohnohelenmirrendidn't by some people because every five minutes a new Helen posts pops up, including one (seriously) about her blowing her nose

I must be the only person in the world who dislikes her. I don't get all the love for her personally.

I just think she's talented, gorgeous and just plain cool.

I didn't watch the Oscars but I adored her dress. It was gorgeous. And I wish Meryl Streep would spend time and pick a gorgeous dress. Being older doesn't mean you suddenly have to be frumpy.

I haven't seen the Queen (and doubt I will as I have no interest in the subject) but she is wonderfully talented.

Oh, yes, her dress was gorgeous. And I agree about Meryl Streep -- she's awesome, but no style. (Hee, she's like Kristen Bell-fashion wise fastforward a couple of decades.)

I had no interest in the subject, I just watched it because of the reviews (and I've loved some of Stephen Frears' other works -- Dangerous Liasons is one of my favorite movies ever), and it really is amazing and actually had me looking up info on the Queen because it was so fascinating and well-done.

I was surprised at how much I liked The Queen. I didn't really care about seeing it, but I ended up enjoying it quite a lot. HM was wonderful, and she looked great at the Oscars.

Speaking of older actresses, Catherine Deneuve looked gorgeous as well and she's even older.
