Big Bang Progress:

Honestly this year I am not concerned overly much with the word count as I'm still in part one and they haven't even left the forest yet.I just surprised myself by choosing to write fantasy for my big bang when that genre fizzled so badly for me in November. The biggest difference is with this I have an actual outline to follow. Maybe I chose fantasy as well because I want to prove to myself that I can still write in that genre. Before attempting it in Nano, I hadn't written fantasy since High School and the class I took where I weaseled my way into getting school credit for writing a novel.

As for my original fiction and stuff being converted into original fiction, thanks to SPN Storyfinders I may have found a publisher. They accept unsolicited manuscripts and they have one company that publishes lgbt romance and one company that publishes young adult. So essentially I could send them both Drifting and Stealing Rapunzel. I'm going to request a copy of their contract be emailed to me and read it very carefully before I decide to do this. Also Nano has an online seminar coming up on 2/11 -- "The Art of Artisinal Publishing" which is going to talk about self publication. I knew a paranormal romance writer in Austin who started out by self publishing and then got picked up by an actual publisher.
