Word Count victory dance! I did a little digging to see how my current word count on Stealing Rapunzel stacked up compared to the original version.
Original Version: 37,928
Current Version over at Fictionpress: 52,249 (and growing since revisions aren't complete yet!)
That's an additional word count (so far) of 14,321 words! It's almost eclipsed my vampire novel (the first installment anyway) and will definitely do so at this rate. I'm actually a little impressed with this story - I didn't realize I'd added so much in revisions. When I first wrote started writing it, way back when, it was purely for fun. An escape from my longer, more serious vampire novel. That novel is safely tucked away for now, and I will probably go back to it someday once the Twilight craziness has faded away.
On a completely related note and with no segue whatsoever, I will be so glad when Valentines Day is over and all these jewelry store commercials go away. They are pure cheese. I especially hate the Jared, The Galleria of Jewelry commercials. ("He went to Jared? He went to Jared!") Why the hell is your store named Jared? It's just weird. I used to be annoyed by the Kay Jewelers commercials ("Every kiss begins with Kay") but I have to say, the Jared commercials have taken over that spot of annoyance completely. I did always kind of like the jewelry commercials that were the shadows of people wearing the jewelry with the classical music playing in the background though. I always thought those were pretty.
