...Oh, it's been recording? [The golem shakes a little as Alfred shrugs.] Mementos of my friends back home. I used to be best friends with Russia, and he liked sunflowers. My brother's Canada, so that's why I've got a maple tree. England can supposedly see fairies and the like, and the fleur de lis is just a representation of France. I won't admit it to his face, but France isn't so bad once you get passed the perverted nature. And...this coat of arms just reminds me of my old boss.

[He sounds a little wistful here.]

He was brilliant! Practically everyone loved the guy! Out of all my bosses, John was almost as beloved as Washington.

Thanks. They're really just reminders about the people who care about me. I'm...not well liked, you know? I don't admit it very often 'cause I'm used to it by now, but it's hard to remember that I've got people I'm close to sometimes.

'Cause they actually like me as a person. They don't see me as just a Nation. Most of the other Nations are like "America is an idiot," or "America just makes things worse," and even my own people say that "America sucks and I wish I was in a different country."
