and moods.
For those who don't know, I am a pretty severe hypothyroid. I started working out on a regular basis in November and this has stimulated the thyroid gland. My Dr, at my annual (nothing like needing regular medication refills to get you to your annual), noted that my dosage is now too high. He reduced the amount and had me reschedule for 3 months. It takes about 2 1/2 months for the medication to level and the body to readjust. This is significant because I now believe his records showed that I was on 150mcg instead of the 175mcg dosage I was actually taking. He lowered me to 137mcg. From 175 to 137 is a HUGE jump. Doesn't sound like much to those that don't take it, but well, there are 3 dosage levels available between 137 and 175.
Now, for nearly 2 weeks I've been a bit on the emo side with some days better than others. Part of this has real psychological roots. I'm in a new relationship of the sort I honestly never expected to have again. As a result, we're discovering that I'm not quite as healed as anyone thought. Add to this that one of the side effects of hypothyroidism is depression and anxiety and this has been a challenging couple of weeks.
I have my followup exam on Wed. If it were any further out, I'd change it but I can wait that long to discuss this with my Dr. Additionally, I've put a reminder in my phone to talk with him about the dosage. Short term memory problems are also a side effect of hypothyroidism.
I really, really want to get things back to your regularly scheduled Dominus as I am definitely not me full time of late.
