A month
in the life of Dominus.
It has been quite a while since I posted, more recently than a month but well, what ever.
Things for the last month have been insane and they are only going to get worse it would seem. Things for the first two months of the RFP process did not go as well as most had hoped and now we are into crunch time. With the exception of the week of vacation, where I only put in about 2 hours a day, my short days during the work week are 9 hours and I only take 1 of those a week. Over the weekend I'm only putting in 2 -3 hours a day, though not sure I'll do that today. I'll pay for it tomorrow if I do, but it may well be worth it. I was also informed on Friday morning that starting August 23rd, I will be spending M-F in Falls Church, VA to be immediately accessible by the Capture Team. This will continue until... they don't need me immediately accessible any more. My guess is the entire month of September and possibly a week or two of October. On the positive side, at least it looks like fly down Monday morning and fly home Friday afternoon. Dis is gonna suck.
If you're chat or skype while I'm out... expect me to ping as I'll likely be bored in the evenings before bed. There is only so much WoW I am capable of playing. I will likely get to play some however, which will be a change. With the hours I've been keeping it hasn't allowed for much gaming or socializing. I come home, eat (sometimes I even get to help cook) and then pass out. Lather, rinse, repeat.
On the plus side of things, the week pheylan and jperegrine were here was fantastic. We got out to Howe Caverns (beware firestarter333, we will be taking you, we want to hear you sing into the pipe organ), we saw Inception (go see it now), we went to several graveyards, took them to wander the grounds at Emma Willard School for Girls, we got drunk and we relaxed. There were some things that didn't happen that we wanted to happen but well, the timing doesn't always work out, there's always less time in a week than you expect and brains sometimes get in the way.
Clue and I have also decided that Sunday evenings will be time for me to work on my photography. I have a LOT of editing to do and taking 30 min here or there is not getting it done thus I will be taking several hours each Sunday for it. We'll see how it holds up through the travel but I am looking forward to it.
