So far, so good. Yes, she really is a gem. It's the first time in possibly forever that I feel like I work for someone who actually cares about other people and wants to see them succeed. Of course, it's her business and my success = her (and all of our) success, ultimately. But a lot of men don't seem to ever get that.
My initial instinct was to stay in a hotel altogether until I could move to my place. When my boss invited me, there was simply no way to say no, and I was not really happy. But it worked out fine and being in my own contained suite helped with that too. The day I finally bugged out was Easter Sunday -- family was coming over and I just didn't want to intrude. The car being on the island gave me the perfect out, even if I couldn't live at my place yet ;)
Thank you, luv. I guess you missed the saga of the move and all in the last post. I came out for an interview with a small, woman-owned consulting firm here in Seattle in January -- my best friend lives near Portland so it seemed like a really good place for me after my options in the East dried up. Everything is great so far!
