I went with Duncan and Greg to see George Clinton and the P-Funk All-stars at Brooklyn Academy of Music. This was a really fun day. We hung out with two of Duncan's friends for a bit and then headed over to a few bars before the show. We hopped the subway over to Brooklyn where we chilled at the Tainted Lady Lounge. This was a particularly strange bar, but still a cool place. We had a few and then ate at Foodswings, Williamsburg's finest vegetarian fast food joint. The buffalo drumsticks are amazing!
One of the people at th Tainted Lady Lounge brought his dog in. Although it's a health code violation, I wasn't terribly upset because she was a cool dog and I enjoyed the company. The bartender here bitched us out pretty hardcore. She scolded us for not tipping her immediately with our first round. We told her to take a chill pill and tipped her nicely later. It appears that there is some sort of "tainted lady" right behind me!
The show was awesome! Greg fell asleep during the opening act, they were pretty bad, but the headliners were great. George Clinton is mad fat now, so he didn't really do too much beside move his arms around and freeload hits of pot from audience members (which was interesting to see). One of the guys in the P-Funk was wearing a diaper, which I wasn't too thrilled about. At any given time there were about 18 musicians on stage. They played songs that were so long they necessitated a drummer switch in the middle. During one of the songs I was completely taken by surprise when George started yelling out "To the window! To the wall! To the sweat drop down my balls! Y'all skeet skeet skeet skeet!" I noticed Greg was very happy to hear this as well.
Every person around was standing up and dancing. Duncan turned to me at the start of the show and said "It's like the biggest house party I've ever been to!" He was absolutely right.
