student profile: Jayden

Jayden is the tiny kid who doesn't know anybody at day camp.  He doesn't go to school with any of them, and he's slow at making friends.  I ended up spending a lot of time with him last week during soccer camp, when he decided: "What's scrimmage?  I don't like scrimmage, I just like soccer", and hence made the steadfast decision to spend most of camp passing the ball on the sidelines with a counselor, which for some reason usually ended up being myself.  At least he was happy doing it.

Jayden = going into first grade
-pros: loves science (i.e. loves paper-mache volcanoes)
            gets excited easily
            heart of gold
-cons: sometimes snotty
            gets excited easily
            is named Jayden

today during the afterschool program:
"Sam, do you have a girlfriend?"
"No Jayden, I don't have a girlfriend."
"YOU HAVE A GIRLFRIEND!"
"Jayden, I think you're the one who has a girlfriend."
"NoooOO!"
"Yeah, you know what Jayden, I bet you have eight girlfriends!"
"NO i DON'T!!! You're the one who has TWENTY FIVE GIRLFRIENDS!"
"Well you have three hundred girlfrie--"
"YOU HAVE INFINITY GIRLFRIENDS!!!"

oh, if only, Jayden, if only.
