We returned last night from our trip to visit Sophia and her family. We got in around 10:30 so it wasn't long before we were all in bed.
We left Georgia on time, but seems that Newark Liberty International Airport has problems handling their flights in a timely fashion. We were instructed to fly a holding pattern while over Baltimore, Maryland and later given extra turns to delay our landing in Newark, New Jersey. We had to wait to cross the tarmac, and when we arrived at our gate Delta Airlines had difficulty with the ramp to the plane. They had serviced the ramp with the wrong lubricant oil and couldn't get the extension needed to meet the main hatch- so we waited another ten minutes for them to back the aircraft up and connect the docking unit to the First Class / Flight Deck door.
Although we had a nice trip, it was short and under the worst of circumstances. Sophia had a few good days while we were there, but she's a sick little girl whose parents deserve the utmost respect and admiration for the way they take care of her and her baby sister, Fiona. I dread the day we get 'the phone call'. For now, Sophia is a happy little girl having celebrated Halloween and Christmas early (days prior to our trip). We were guests at music class and had the chance to see some of the family.
Jayden got his first airplane ride this trip and received his 'first kiss' at the music class from a little girl- I want to say her name was Ava. Anyhow- I think we're in big trouble when he becomes of age...
We took lots of photos so I'll post some when I get the opportunity to edit them for Flickr.
That's all for now. --Jon
