In the cards

Dec 30, 2007 05:33

Hope everyone had a nice Xmas.

I won't bother to recount the minutia of my own experience, except to say that my grandfather thought a book entitled "Walking in Your Own Shoes: Discover God's Plan for Your Life" would be a present I'd enjoy.

No need for resolutions this year. I don't like making promises I can't keep.

I have a better idea of why "higher" education has become such a source of tedium--the question of the signifier and the signified. For the most part, I operate by concepts, not factoids. Knowing who did what in what year means very little to me as long as I understand the significance of the action. College tends to dwell (for the most part) on that which I find irrelevant. To some, that may sound like an excuse for lackadaisical learning and apathy. That may be true, but I think my approach is valid. And really! Isn't that all that matters?

Tarot is sweet.

Wakka! Wakka! Wakka!

Goodnight
