What's this "LiveJournal" contraption? or Long Time No See or For Shits and Giggles

Summer has provided me with one amusement after the next. Wedged between the bookends of establishing and dismantling the splotchy, blue-orange apartment with Constance, we've dodged the curveballs of jobs, money, family matters, classes, exuberance, boredom, and opposing circadian rhythms--all things interspersed by the ephemeral presence of those sought after quiet moments. I anticipate the time when we can co-habitate through several seasons and beyond...

Once again, I've been reassessing the discontinuity that is my membership among that elite class of espresso-slinging drones. True, at the service of a mainly liberal clientele...but an upper-middle class liberal clientele. Aside from the clashes I've had with one of the owner/managers, the place is just not lefty enough to suit me. This is not my cup of joe and I doubt I will trouble them with my continued employment come the fall.

I've been spending my time decoding stats problems and screenprinting. I have favorites, including TankGirl, Gandhi, and Marx (though I find him to be a pompus windbag). Never fear...Emma Goldman, Audre Lorde, and Jean-Michel Basquiat are due in the near future.

Any ideas? I do love suggestions.

I've been quite the naughty student as far as things go, but for better or worse I've gotten over constantly moaning about it. I still want to get something (anything, really) written before my time is pulled toward other concerns.

Another year is about to pass me by and I'm not sure if that's the cause of recent sentimentality, but I've been wanting to get back in touch with a lot of people that have strayed from contact over the past weeks/months/years. If you're so inclined, drop me a line and tell me what you're up to, where you are, or any other tidbits that strike your fancy.

Old faces from the past have been reappearing lately. Ex: The ex-bf of the chick with whom my hs bf cheated on me is in my stats class and well as an old Henrico High IB kid. The latter of which recruited me to play bass for a Smashing Pumpkins inspired band.

Speaking of bands! At the end of the spring, The Wet Spot completed our one and only recording. Drop me a line if you want a copy and I can make that available in some way shape or form.

Constance and I are going to Baltimore this coming weekend to call on dear Ms. Novak...then I shall drag Constance to the second day of the Virgin Mobile tour at which the Smashing Pumpkins (v2.0), Regina Spektor, and an enormous mixed-up, goodie bag of artists are playing.

...seeing as I haven't slept, must get coffee...
