Internet woes and my mother is insane
Well, as most of you know, I've been raving about how we got on Verizon FIOS and it's super fast and I was all happy and excited. Well, first off... a little background. My mother is the one paying for the internet here. We wanted to give FIOS and CableTV a try. She asked me to put in the order about 3 weeks ago, so I did. I told her at the time of ordering that it would be $119/month. She agreed, and told me to go ahead and place the order. We did that, and at several points during the 3 week wait period, she expressed concern about "We're going to be paying this much for this service and I don't think there'll be anything I want to watch on it." So.. each time she brought it up (About 6 times total) I told her that we can call in and cancel it and not go through with it. Each of the 6 times, she told me "No go ahead, let's go and see what they have to offer." So we do and go through with it. And then we get here, the install date came, and we're installed. 48 hours later.. she's sad and depressed and losing sleep because there's nothing out of the 165 channels offered on the basic TV package that can entertain her that she'd even want to watch for more than 30 minutes.
So.. the end result is we're going to go back to Time Warner Cable, on 15/1 internet, and she's going to instead of paying for fios, she rather pay that kind of money to me, and give me $50/month from now on every month, on top of the spare change she already gives me. So.. there's a lot of computer hardware I'll be able to get with this option.
It would sure be nice to stay on FIOS and the high speed, but with what she's offering the other way.. and me having no job, I guess I'll just go on with that instead. I've delt with TWC for 2 years, I can deal with it a little longer.
