1 2 3 party.

The problem with having one's birthday in such close proximity to a holiday, especially one - Halloween - that involves parties, is that it can be hard to have an actual birthday party without associating it with said holiday. Scheduling is tough because, for example, if Halloween falls on a Tuesday, the parties are often ON my birthday. A non-costumed birthday party on the same night everybody is dressing up for Halloween is likely to end up half-costumed or half-empty. Not that I need by birthday party to be non-costumed. In fact, I want to throw a non-Halloween, costume party this year. Since Halloween is on a Saturday this year, I feel good about throwing a party the weekend before (10/24). It will involve costumes, but I don't want everybody to blow their Halloween load a week early, so I came up with a theme (of sorts). I want people to wear something "normal" that they would never normally wear. For example, I could wear a sweater vest with jean shorts and sandals. I want to see people in sweatpants. I want to see people wearing mock turtlenecks and bow ties. Don't try to look your best. Be creative.

It's a "Come As You Aren't" party and you're invited.
