Have you heard about this?
http://americansfortruth.com/news/theyre-baacckk-california-gay-brainwashing-bills-sb-777.html I don't know where these self-righteous assholes are getting their information. After hearing about it, I read the actual sb 777 bill on a government website. It's long-winded and boring, as legal text usually is, but I got through it. There is not a single shred of truth to what these anti-gay fundamentalists are saying. How could any institution consisting mostly of children avoid using the words, "mom" and "dad"? That's just stupid.
The bill is actually a catchall legal safety net against discrimination and bias. If people raised their kids right, in the "if you don't have anything nice to say..." sense, it wouldn't even be necessary, but since nobody can agree with anybody, here we are. Basically, it's to provide the same educational opportunities to anyone, regardless of whether they're gay, their parents are gay, they have gender issues, are retarded, handicapped, deformed, a religious zealot, not a religious zealot, ethnic or just plain ugly.
To say that all kindergarteners are learning about homosexual lifestyles is only a partial truth. The issue probably won't even come up in most parts of California. However, if little Bobby's dads are passing out peanut-lactose-sugar-free cupcakes at the class Non-Sectarian Winter Holiday Party and the kids start asking why little Bobby has two dads, the teacher would be under obligation to explain, appropriately, what a life partner is.
That being said, parents are still free to brainwash their kids however they see fit, but they should be warned that if their bible-thumping Ricky beats up little Bobby because his dads are gay, bible-thumping Ricky will be suspended.
