In this peaceful little valley...

Sorry, I kinda jumped off the planet again. I started a real journal recently. I had more to write about than I wanted to share, I guess. Anyways, I've been in Cortland. Mostly catching up with old friends and family. My parents just had their 25th anniversary. We kept it pretty low key.

I went to the Turning Stone last week with Patti, Nae, Ben and Andrew. It was a fun time. I won $6. And I won Ben back his money. So he bought me ice cream.

Anyways, what else is new? I went to OzFest with Patti on Saturday(the Wizard of Oz festival, not Osborne festival). Lots of fun, and I got more books to read. I went to an auction on Sunday. VERY entertaining. The auctioneer was an 82 year old farmer who wore overalls, big boots, and a straw hat. They auctioned off a cow, some rabbits, canned goods, chickens, furniture, dolls, and lots and lots of other stuff. They auctioned off pretty much anything you wanted to bring. I made 64 dollars by auctioning off some of my porcelain dolls from the collection that my family always thought I should have. I probably could have made more on ebay, but this was more entertaining and I didn't have to ship anything and it was out of my life right away. So that was good.

Monday night, a little before midnight, Patti and I drove to the SuperWalmart in Auburn. Patti wanted to get the 2nd and 3rd seasons of Newlyweds, which came out on DVD on Tuesday and there aren't any stores in Cortland where it would come out at midnight. It was a fun trip, to say the least. And then we stayed up til about 4:30 watching parts of it. They have some funny bonus features on it.

Ah... I went to the Dairy Parade. probably the first time since I was about 5 years old that I actually WATCHED it. I ran into a lot of people that I knew. It was scary seeing girls I knew in high school pushing strollers around... I hope they were babysitting. And there was a Mr. Peanut in the parade. It wasn't nearly as good as the one in Steel Pier. But I saw a lot of kids that were in the junior high play I directed as a senior in high school... most of them will graduate next year. That makes me feel old.

Another thing that makes me feel old... I realized I could say that something happened 15 years ago... and REMEMBER it. And I also realized that I had met Brian 10 years ago. And that I had met Ben 17 years ago. (Shane, I met you 18 years ago!) That just seems really weird.

Oh! my cousin Katie got her driver's permit! I'm so excited for her! (More excited than she is...) I think she's driving us to the mall next time... *commence evil laughter*.

I got to see Donna, Cindy, and Laura yesterday on their way back to Buffalo. We had lunch and Patti came too. I didn't know it, but I had ordered half a cantaloupe. They also got to meet the ferret. It was nice to see them. I missed them. Sorry I made you both worry!

Yeah, so that's about it for now. I'll be back in Buffalo soon for the start of Shakespeare. I mean, home's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live here...
