"I wanna always feel like part of this was mine..."

Khalid and I went to the Paramore and Jimmy Eat World concert. Holy shit was it fun.

The opening band wasn't bad at all(unlike our last experience at a big-ish concert where the opening bands performed terribly). It was funny though, they were all wearing flannel shirts and were sort of scruffily looking. For those of you who have played Rock Band with us, you would know them as the Band of Hobo Joe. There was also a roadie who looked a lot like "Hobo Joe". They were called Deer and the Headlights, by the way.

Paramore is officially an awesome band. I already liked their music and thought the lead singer was crazy cute, but now I know they're also good in concert. Hayley(lead vocals) is extremely talented(http://youtube.com/watch?v=KiR838VOCrA), but it's one thing to be able to sing well and it's another to be able to sing well at a concert, both of which she's very good at(and she can sing and head bang at the same time). She interacted with the crowd a lot, she encouraged people to sing and would talk at us between songs(she made a joke about the concert being an awkward first date since most of the crowd had never been to a Paramore show). They were all just fun to watch. During their slower song the drummer didn't have anything to do so he picked up a guitar that wasn't plugged in and start hopping around stage with it.

Jimmy Eat World was a lot like Fall Out Boy, awesome music, awesome light show, but they didn't really interact with the crowd as much. It felt good to finally see them live though considering how long I've listened to them. They sang all of my favorite up beat songs and I assumed that they wouldn't play "Hear You Me" because it was a slower song. Well, they came out for the planned encore and played it and I cried most of the time.

See, there's a story with this song and apparently I don't tell it very often. It's one of my favorite songs so I use to listen to it on a regular basis. Then my grandma died. I honestly didn't think anything of it, but after she died my mom would listen to this song over and over. I just didn't put two and two together until one day my mom turned to me and said "Every time I hear this song I think of your grandmother." For a year after that I couldn't listen to that song without crying. It meant the world to me to hear that song live.

So overall the concert was well worth it. It was extremely entertaining and I even got some emotional value out of it.

Anyway, I just wanted to post about the concert. I still need to listen to the Hush Sound cd before I make an opinion of it, thus far it's not my favorite but it's still good. We'll see.
