After we got our math tests back, I called out, "Ms. Aboody! When are we getting the matchmaker results??" and she said, "I'm glad your priorities are in the right place" genuinely. But really, when are we getting the matchmaker results??
When I grow up, I want to arbitrate gang wars.
I have not written in a very, very long time. Let me try to recall some of the things that have passed. Brick was really fun, Gabe's was really fun. Dinos are forever and the Museum of Natural History proves it. Spring not only sprang, it latched onto our skin and penetrated our pores, taking over our bodies. Friends dispersing. Concentrated family time, which I am enjoying. Skyrocketing bluntness. Amassing knowledge.
I am reading John Edwards' Four Trials in preparation for meeting him, and not only is he a cutie, I now realize, but also a great lawyer. Oh man, I'm going to meet John Edwards!
Is anyone into any of the Claremont Colleges and want to go to an info session with me at the Marriott?
Speaking of which, I am so stoked for the college fair. I love colleges, I love shopping. This ought to be great.
Any ideas for my Observer column name? "Steph" yields only "Steph infection," so perhaps "Chan" is the way to go. But not "Chantastic" for everyone's sake.
I have purchased many pieces of summer clothes. They thrill me.
I want to tell you something about Chinese and it's quite weird and fascinates me. You use different articles when referring to different things, and often which article you use correlates with the shape of the object. You use tiao for fish and pants and necklace because they're sort of long and flat. And you use gao for poop and cloud because they're like a clump. It's so so bizarre.
