[The Chapel - Arias - Elicoor II]

Nel paced the room nervously, the bells of the church already ringing in her ears; any minute now, Tynave and Farleen would appear again to walk her to the chapel doors, and escort up the aisle where she would be joined in marriage to Albel. Albel... her heart skipped a beat as she thought of him, imagining how stunning he would look as she stepped up to join him at the altar; who would have thought that the two enemies who had once hated each others' very existence could grow so close? Fayt was partly to thank for that, she supposed. Fayt and his strange group of companions.

"Nel?" An eager voice broke into her thoughts, jolting her from her reverie. It was Clair, here to wich her a bit of last-minute luck. "Nel, are you ready? Is everything alright?"

"I suppose so, Clair, I..." she murmured, the gravity of the situation threatening to overwhelm her. "I'm really... this is... I mean..."

"It's quite alright." Clair stepped closer and lais a hand on the red-haired woman's arm. "We've known each other for some time, Nel; I know I've sent you on a fair few dangerous missions, and you've never yet disappointed me. I can understand why you're so... apprehensive about this one."

"Clair..."

"Please. No need to be worried." Clair offered what she hoped was a reassuring smile. "I can tell the two of you are more than pleased to be with each other, and I know he'll be able to protect you... not that you ever need protecting," she added hastily. "I know there's little love lost between Aquaria and Airyglyph, and Albel is hardly the knight in white armour we would have hoped for you, but... you have my blessing, and that of all the Crimson Blades. We just want you to be happy. The gods know you deserve it."

Clair turned away, a speck of dust obviously clouding her eye, for she was wiping at her cheek with the back of her hand; and at that moment, Tynave and Farleen rushed in, looking awkward in their dress robes and with their hair painstakingly styled into some kind of attempt to tame it.

"Nel! Come on, everyone's waiting!" Barely sparing a moment to nod at their commanding officer, the two young Crimson Blades grabbed one of Nel's arms each and steered her to the door, virtually pushing her along the street towards the chapel. Few people saw her approach the doors; most of the populace were already inside, packed together and looking forward to seeing the heroine of Aquaria joined in marriage.

Taking a deep breath, flanked by Tynave and Farleen, the chapel doors opened, and Nel stepped into the aisle.

((OOC: Albel-mun, this is waaaaaaaay overdue, I am sorry! I figured I owed you an extra-big post to try and make up for it. ^^; ))
