Darwin itself was a bit bogan, to be honest --- too much neon for my liking --- but then we saw the posh side and that was very nice indeed. Kakadu was AMAZING from the air. By the time we got to Uluru, we'd been told so many times that it's disrespectful to climb it and we'd been told how difficult it is and that at least thirty-five people have died falling off it that we decided not to. Then I actually SAW it and the sheer size of it terrified me so much it took me fully five minutes to actually see the little railing they use to climb it and no fucking WAY!

I'd already climbed to the top of Watarrka (Kings Canyon) by then so I had done my bit. :p
