every little change, every empty evening, every wasted day

I've actually had a couple of fairly exciting days, work-wise. Did a whole new jurisdiction yesterday which was all manner of thrilling and happily there were familiar lawyer type faces, one of whom totally beamed at me, and the system was exactly the same so it was verrah easy to settle into. And today capped off a couple of days last week where I did a lot more Crime in totally different courts. Today's case was a little unnerving and totally confidential but luckily I haven't yet been put into a sexual case. Yet. Actually, now I'm kinda hoping I'll get one tomorrow, just so I can desensitise myself and not make it into a thing.

Oh yeah, I'm working five days a week at the moment just to get the savings back up to a comfortable point after all the Melbourne spending. Just waiting on accomodation deals now. And have to go get a new proof of age card at some point. *makes mental note* I do wish people would stop mentioning swine flu every time I say excitedly "I'm going to Melbourne soon! I've never been!" Kinda makes the hypochondriac in me glower. *glowers*

Having finished my last Heyer a few weeks ago --- yes, I should post about that --- I've moved onto contemporary Regency romance. As in Regency romance written by living authors, heh. And have gotten quite hooked on Loretta Chase and Anne Gracie, both of whom are awesomely witty and rather blisteringly hot. Anne Gracie is also incredibly dark, a contrast that I found quite frightening and effective. And of course this was made all the more awesome by discovering she's an Aussie. Hee.

This also means I have discovered Intrigue. I think I vaguely heard about it when I was actually living in Canberra although maybe that's Gaslight I'm thinking about. As it is, have placed order and books will soon be winging or at least zooming their way towards me, and have happily consigned myself to the naffest of disgrace. Cos hey, escapism for the win. Even if it is bordering on depressing the fuck out of me. Whatevs.

Did you know Steve Kilbey is prolific to an absolutely terrifying degree? Oh yis.
