Mmm. Watched Season One of Pushing Daisies today.
Though I was absolutely fascinated by the production aesthetic and all those fabulous costumes, I found myself oddly irritated by the dialogue. It bordered on tryhard, like they were going for the idiosyncratic vocabulary of Buffy but you know what, so didn't work for me, just made them sound moronic rather than quirkily intelligent. Or perhaps that's how some people found Buffy. This wasn't nearly naturalistic enough for my liking, especially with the long long sentences the actors rushed out and made me cringe. Still I kept watching for the plot and found myself rather unexpectedly invested in the Olive/Alfredo 'ship. Anna Friel is utterly gorgeous, though, omg.
I so need to buy How I Met Your Mother cos bugger me if I don't want to watch all three seasons again from the start. And every time I watch Lost In Austen, I like it more. *sigh*
New LJ header cos I stumbled upon a Priyanka Chopra fansite and couldn't resist the
J. Hampstead ad campaign. Guh!
