Posted this morning on the
blogspot.
I am so pissed off about The Combination being pulled from screens. Aside from knowing someone involved in the marketing, it was already a film on my radar and pinging my ever increasing curiosity.
First it was a shock to hear over the weekend that it had been pulled because of assaults. Now I read this
mealy mouthed article that says "yes, it's because of the assaults, no it's not because of the assaults." OOH! Which is it?!
And if it is because of the assaults, then bloody oath are you on the wrong bloody foot!
As if good Australian films aren't hard enough to come by, anyway! As if films about racial tension in Australia aren't hard enough to make, anyway! As if films exploring Lebanese racial tension aren't hard enough to make, anyway! As if pulling a film like this won't stir even more racial tension up! Jesus Christ.
The funny thing is I was originally content to wait for this to come to DVD and watch it then in the privacy of my own home so I could be shocked and moved without exposing my reactions to other people. Now I'm so angry I'm determined to go wherever to see it.
Sixty per cent of the audience lost! JESUS!
