It occurred to me over the past few days that while Tim has kinda done a different style on what, something like four or five albums (?), Jeff managed to do at least three on the one album.
But then Jeff had the luxury of learning from his father's mistakes, didn't he? And you get the distinct impression from both Brown and Cyr that he wasn't above using the Buckley name --- well, yeah, look at the name right there --- to his own advantage. Definitely he was smart enough to see how Tim spiralled off up his own arse erm, into stratospheres of grandeur. Cos Jeff is always accessible, keeps the strong melodic sensibility even when he's doing his own vocal acrobatics. It never ceases to amaze me just how accessible he is compared to Tim.
Well. I find him accessible. :p
Me, I don't know yet. It'd prolly be the worst if I thought I was being accessible but really off into my own clouds of high wankery genius. *snort*
I wonder what Stoppard might have to say on the matter. Now there's someone who hits the note just right, combining matters of philosophy with matters of humour and never losing you along the way.
Well. I think he doesn't. :p
