Eeek, there's a huge poster outside my local charcoal chicken shop for omg Beowulf! Talk about an instant squee and flail, Gaiman-wise.
Methinks it will be very hard to avoid Angie in the next six months. What with posters for A Mighty Heart still adorning every street corner in the city and Wanted --- omg Super!McAvoy guh! --- publicity begun online and this. *sigh* I just know I'm going to fall hard again. Oh no wait, all I have to do is remember who she sleeps with. Blleeaaarrgghhh! *makes Buffy tequila face*
My Gaiman loyalty demands Beowulf attendance. Gosh, I remember being told this story when I was so very young. Grendel and Beowulf. Part of the whole mythology thing even though this is what, Norse? Rather than Greek. It always bewildered me. Certainly I wasn't imagining a buxom goddess as troll mother back then. *snort* Still Gaiman has talked so much about it in his journal that I can't not go.
*pauses*
I've completely forgotten what it was I did want to post about. Senility. I tell you.
Hm. I have gotten to the point where I critique a Supernatural episode line by line as it airs.
"Oh jeez, did you really need that line? Could have cut that one. Could have cut that one, too. And that one. Omigod, that entire fucking scene was unnecessary! Jesus Christ! What is WRONG with you people? Now, see, why couldn't you have gone straight to that line? How dumb do you think your audience IS?!"
Yes, I know. Why do I keep watching? Well, Dean.
And Padalecki was fabulously awesome with all those pratfalls. I do love his voice when Sam gets all angry. Wuff.
Californication was excellent, as always.
Cos I missed last week's episode but caught up on an online synopsis, for me the show pretty much went from a lesbian heavy threesome to a guy heavy threesome. Involving Duchovny. How can I not love that?
And yet, the emotional dynamics. Man oh man. Such good writing, such incredible characterisation. Men and the women they love. Girls and the men they want. To be? Oh Mia. How does she forever manage to tread that line of sympathy and poison? Again I say, incredible characterisation.
Kapinos, I heart thee.
New House tonight. Yay Foreman's back! *kermit dance*
